Ultimate Wedding Checklist

Congratulations on getting engaged! The time has come to sit down with your partner to discuss the oh so very important things you need to plan for. Why not have the dream wedding you have set your mind on since being a little girl. But where do you begin? We have created a detailed checklist for you to begin with.

• Set up a checklist
• Set up a budget
• Decide on the wedding party
• Start creating the guest list
• If you wish to hire we planner, its best to decide on one from the beginning
• Decide on a date and time, and consider visiting a few venues
• Research potential vendors e.g. Photographers, florists, caterers, musicians and DJ’s
• If you are planning on an engagement party, decide on the date
• Photographer and Videographers should be hired in the beginning to avoid last minutes rates
• Book the entertainment and start planning a menu and visit some caterers
• Tux and Wedding dress shopping, book a few appointments to get a few ideas
• If you are planning on having a wedding gift registry, decide on the stores
• Select invitation designs and have a vendor assist and start sending these out at least 6 months before the wedding date
• To avoid last minute rates, book the honeymoon as far in advance as possible
• Bridesmaid dresses and tuxedos for the Men need to be ordered
• Meet with a few officiants to see which one would suit your requirements
• Décor planning needs to take place and be hired in advance
• Book a florist
• Book your transportation
• Start composing a plan for the wedding day activities
• Last minute planning, book your last dress fitting closer to the wedding, and purchase wedding shoes
• Book hair and makeup artists
• Decide on the types of music you prefer having played on your Wedding Day with your DJ
• Wedding favours need to be decided upon
• Discuss the MC and which guests will be giving toasts
• Purchase garters and lingerie
• Decide upon order of ceremony
• Rings, don’t forget the rings
• Arrange the bar list, will you be offering complimentary drinks, or will you be having a cash bar?
• Set up a seating chart
• Purchase gifts for the Wedding party
• Should you be writing your own vows, spend time on these to avoid last minute jitters

Your wedding is supposed to be a day to remember, so take it easy and don’t over stress or become a Bridezilla. Take your time at planning the wedding and discuss important details with your fiancé over a glass of wine or dinner.
